Who’s in control ?

Published by wiseteach at 7:28 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Do you remember when you were a child and saying “I am not going to be like my parents”. “I’m going to be cool, understanding, and allow my child to voice their opinion”. Do you remember that first time your child told you “No” and all that pollyanna bull went straight out the window. We try to be loving and all that, but these kids make it too damn hard. There is so much pressure to make sure they have the right outfits and the right play groups. And could somebody please explain to me why a 9 year old needs a cellphone in school? Do they have some job that needs to contact them? And why are we calling them during their classtime anyway? Dont we have jobs that we should be working ourselves. And dont even think about laying a hand on them. They have 911, social services, and the “Steve” show on speed dial. I remember when my mom could just give me a look that mean death. I remember trying to not have an ugly thought in my head about my momma for fear that she really was a “Charmed One” and could read my thoughts. I’m grown and have my own kids, but to this day I still wait until I’m out her house, round the corner and down the street before having and ugly thought, because I’m worried she would remove my lips. Unfortunately they control us. Now all we can do when we feel likeĀ  “killing” them is plan our alibi and not get caught.

my niece is 6. She has a backpack with an mp3 player in it and a slot for a cell phone. She has mp3s downloaded to it, but she said she doesn’t need a cell phone because you can’t really talk in school….

we will see how long that mentality lasts….
